What is OPHTHALMOLOGY?

Perhaps many people are still confused or not know the meaning of the word "Ophthalmology". The term is actually derived from the Greek, namely OPHTHALMOS which means EYE, and LOGOS which means speech, mind, or principle. Ophthalmology literally means the science of eyes. Thus, the terminology of "Ophthalmology" is the branch of medicine that specializes in anatomy, physiology, and diseases of the eye.
